Commerzbank Selects Verity's Advanced Search Technology for Enterprise-Wide Deployment
Leading German Bank Builds Customer-Focused Web Initiative Around Verity K2 Enterprise
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - July 12, 2005 - Verity Inc., (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise search software that enables organizations to discover, analyze and process all of the digital information within their enterprises, today announced that Commerzbank, the third largest bank in Germany, has selected Verity® K2 Enterprise (K2E) for advanced search and categorization capabilities on its corporate Web site.
With the increasing amount of information on the bank's Web sites, Commerzbank recognized the need to consolidate its content under one umbrella. Verity K2E was selected as a key component of Commerzbank's customer-focused Web initiative to allow its customers to access all of the bank's Web sites information from one single point.
After a detailed evaluation of the available search solutions in the market that included analysis of security, performance, multilingual, classification and personalization capabilities, the German financial services firm selected Verity.
"Verity's K2E provides a personalized and secure access point to Commerzbank Group's knowledge, making a reality of our desire to bring together central tasks for the whole company while allowing specific definition of content as it applies to each business unit," said Willi Sonntag, Commerzbank Group's director of communications.
Verity K2E is an effective search solution that enables Commerzbank's users to locate information on its Web site quickly and easily. The product's advanced categorization capability also allows each of the bank's business units to organize its content to meet its unique business requirements, through the use of business rules for each business area. Bank personnel found that this capability significantly enhances the relevance of the search results.
"Commerzbank recognized its Web site as a crucial source of information for its customers and realized the importance that an effective advanced search tool plays in that success," said Hugo Sluimer, Verity's senior vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) operations. "We are pleased that Commerzbank has chosen Verity software to play a key role in its online initiative and look forward to seeing this great global financial institution make further use of the capabilities of Verity K2E."
