ZANTAZĀ® Upgrades Industry-Leading, On-Demand Compliance Archiving Solution; Provides Continuity of Business Benefits

Releases Digital Safe 6.5; Gains Market Share in the Hosted Email Archiving Space

PLEASANTON, CA - (June 29, 2005) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader of Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, today announced ZANTAZ Digital Safe 6.5 with significant upgrades to the company's award-winning, on-demand solution for compliance archiving, monitoring and eDiscovery.

The ZANTAZ Digital Safe product family is a secure, scalable, battle-tested compliance archiving, monitoring and discovery solution that helps enterprises meet the security and audit standards of the world's leading financial institutions and government agencies. By proactively retaining both live and legacy data in a single, online repository that can be searched and analyzed electronically, ZANTAZ Digital Safe helps organizations avoid the costly searches and steep penalties often associated with legal discovery requests.

The Digital Safe 6.5 release also allows organizations to more effectively meet the records retention, supervision and retrieval requirements of industry and government regulations, such as SEC 17a-4 and Sarbanes-Oxley, by adding features that improve chain of custody, business continuity, security and user efficiency.

The ZANTAZ Digital Safe family includes the ZANTAZ Digital Safe service for compliance archiving, ZANTAZ Digital Supervisor for monitoring and supervision, and ZANTAZ Audit Center for electronic discovery.

"This release is the next step in the realization of our seamless, end-to-end IRDM vision," said Joe Romanowski, Vice President, Product Strategy for ZANTAZ. "As the regulatory environment evolves, we will continue to add features and functionality to our solutions that help our customers control the risk and costs associated with managing unstructured data-including email and Instant Messaging-and responding to urgent discovery requests."

Advanced User Features Deliver on IRDM Vision

The ZANTAZ Digital Safe 6.5 product release introduces several features that support next-generation IRDM benefits for improved auditability, security, and efficiency:

  • LiveCapture Verification (Digital Safe) - Ensures a high level of compliance verification by providing a defensible audit trail of archived messages
  • Strong Authentication Access (Digital Safe) - Allows customers to use hardware "tokens" to securely login to all Web-based Digital Safe applications, thereby eliminating the need for password access, which is less secure
  • Disclaimer Exclusion (Digital Supervisor) - Reduces review of unnecessary "false positive" messages by ignoring hits caused by disclaimer text
  • Mailbox Level Message Selection (Digital Supervisor) - Helps ensure that organizations monitor the correct level of messages for each individual
  • Email Variations (Audit Center) - Allows customers to refine searches for more accurate results by showing all potential combinations of a user's email addresses
  • Date Gap Report (Audit Center) - Provides for increased search accuracy by highlighting time gaps in email discovery result sets

Proven Compliance Archiving with Continuity of Business Protection

The hosted ZANTAZ Digital Safe service also delivers Continuity of Business (COB) benefits that help companies restore critical operations quickly and cost-effectively following a catastrophic event. The ZANTAZ Digital Safe minimizes the risk associated with data loss and allows for controlled, predictable recovery costs in the event of a disaster. The foundation of these COB benefits is ZANTAZ' proprietary Split Cell architecture, which safeguards electronic files by storing multiple copies of customer data in two geographically separate "low risk" locations.

Market Sees Steady Growth as ZANTAZ Strengthens Leadership Position

Recent industry research conducted by The Radicati Group named ZANTAZ as the market leader in the outsourced email archiving space for the fourth consecutive year, with a 62% revenue market share for its hosted archiving solutions (The Radicati Group Email Archiving Market Trends 2005-2009 report). The report predicts a strong and steady growth for email archiving solutions with worldwide revenues reaching $465 million by the end of the year, and total revenues expected to grow to almost $4.5 billion by the end of 2009.

"ZANTAZ is a clear leader in the email archiving space," said Sara Radicati, President of The Radicati Group. "This new Digital Safe release-coupled with the company's other Information Retention and Discovery Management solutions-positions ZANTAZ to help organizations manage their digital information while complying with strict regulatory requirements."
