Verity Appoints Nicole Eagan to Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Experienced Marketing Executive Joins World Class Leadership Team
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2005-06-22 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise search software that enables organizations to discover, analyze and process all of the digital information within their enterprises, today announced the appointment of Nicole Eagan to senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
In this newly created position, Eagan will have responsibility for Verity's worldwide marketing efforts including corporate marketing, field marketing and product marketing. In addition, Eagan will play an important role as the company continues on its strategic growth path, evidenced by the expansion of its product portfolio. Eagan will report to Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity's president and chief executive officer.
"Nicole brings twenty years of enterprise software marketing experience from industry-leading and growth-oriented companies to our team of world class executives," Bettencourt said. "Her proven track record fits well with Verity's track record of performance and will accelerate our ability to help customers and partners achieve success through increased market adoption of our broad product portfolio."

Before joining Verity, Eagan was vice president, global marketing at Quest Software, an application, database and Windows management company, where growth increased from 19% to 28% during her tenure.
Prior to Quest, Eagan was senior vice president, global marketing at Peregrine where she was a key contributor to the turnaround management team responsible for refocusing Peregrine on its core business and returning the company to profitability.
Eagan also held senior marketing, strategy and business development positions at Extricity, a business process management company and Oracle Corporation.
