Verity President and CEO Wins Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 Award
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2005-06-21 - Verity Inc., (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise search software that enables organizations to discover, analyze and process all of the digital information within their enterprises, today announced that its president and chief executive officer, Anthony J. Bettencourt, was named a winner of the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award in Northern California in the Technology and Software category.
Bettencourt was selected from 25 finalist companies in Northern California by an independent panel of judges comprised of local business, academic and community leaders and announced at an awards banquet held June 17, 2005.
Bettencourt will further be eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 national program conducted by professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, will be announced November 19, 2005.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses. The program honors entrepreneurs through regional, national and global award programs in more than 100 cities and 35 countries.
