ZANTAZĀ® EAS Wins Network Computing's Editor's Choice Award for Automated Email Archiving Solutions

Company Beat Out Two Top Competitors to Gain Prestigious Honor

PLEASANTON, CA (May 24, 2005) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, today announced that its award-winning ZANTAZ Enterprise Archive Solution (EAS) has been named the Editor's Choice in Network Computing Magazine's recent email archiving products lab review. ZANTAZ EAS, the highest rated solution tested by Network Computing Magazine, was one of only three email archiving vendors that met the magazine's criteria and was able to accomplish all aspects of the rigorous test plan.

Network Computing's lab test required real-time, active email archiving products that support both Exchange and Domino with Microsoft's SQL Server as the back-end database Ten vendors were invited to submit their email archiving and management software for testing at Network Computing's Real World Labs in Syracuse, New York.

"Seven vendors said they were interested, but only products from EMC, Waterford Technologies and ZANTAZ met our criteria and could go the distance with our rigorous test plan," said Network Computing's Lab Director, Ron Anderson, who evaluated the three email archiving offerings: ZANTAZ EAS, Waterford's MailMeter Forensic and EMC's EmailXtender during a three month lab review process. Solutions were evaluated on configuration, scalability and architecture; multiple user interfaces; price; features; and compliance support. The test email store included both historical records and a steady stream of live email.

"When saving your company's vital records, automation is the way, and ZANTAZ EAS has a rich feature set that offers that and a decent price tag," said Anderson. "Compliance support accounted for 25 percent of our score, and ZANTAZ scored a five out of five. It has the most flexible method for defining policies and rules, and is the only product that lets you automatically delete email that needn't be retained. Indeed, when all was said and done, the ZANTAZ product was our Editor's Choice."

According to lab tests, ZANTAZ EAS was found to have a rich feature set geared toward "heavily regulated industries or those companies that just want peace of mind." ZANTAZ EAS scored especially high in areas identified by Network Computing as critical to an email archiving solution, including retention and deletion procedures, flexibility and policy engine power.

"Winning this Network Computing Editor's Choice award highlights our commitment to driving innovation in our information retention and discovery management products," said Joe Romanowski, Vice President of Product Strategy, ZANTAZ. "Our customers appreciate that our rich functionality and feature set allows them to effectively manage email storage, aid compliance with retention and supervision requirements, and allow for the efficient discovery and retrieval of messages. Being named Editor's Choice further validates the innovation, quality and value that ZANTAZ EAS provides our customers."

ZANTAZ EAS is a fully integrated family of email and file management products that help organizations manage their email and file storage, simply and cost-effectively. By implementing the ZANTAZ EAS family of products, organizations can fully optimize their storage needs, significantly reduce IT overhead and dramatically increase end-user productivity-all while ensuring the long-term retention and instant retrieval of email and files in the event of a regulatory investigation or an electronic discovery request.
