AUTONOMY SUPPORTS LEGAL INFORMATION NETWORK AT WHITE & CASE

San Francisco, CA - 11 May 2005 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. AUTN.L) a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that White & Case LLP, a leading global law firm, is using Autonomy to successfully power intelligent retrieval for the Firm's 1,900 lawyers and associated staff. White & Case chose Autonomy over several other technology providers for its superior language independent approach. The Firm will deploy Autonomy in 38 offices, across 28 countries, and in 21 languages.

"As a leading global law firm, White & Case needed a solution to help automate the collection and categorization of electronic information that is vital to the support of our business," said Eugene Stein, chief knowledge and technology officer, White & Case LLP. "Autonomy's ability to combine secure desktop search with enterprise retrieval for information generated by our five thousand employees quickly and efficiently was a key requisite in choosing this technology."

The implementation will also enable White & Case to deliver critical and time sensitive knowledge and information to its clients with little to no interruption of workflow, thus significantly reducing operational costs while improving employee efficiency.

"Autonomy will allow our attorneys to save time and reduce manual efforts in locating and managing information, which will provide our clients with a competitive advantage in developing their legal strategy and effecting their business objectives," added Stein.

"The best legal strategy relies on the best information. One of the major problems facing law firms today is the time wasted on sifting through terabytes of data, of which 80% is unstructured and difficult to locate," said Stouffer Egan, chief executive officer, Autonomy U.S. "Autonomy automates that process in a way that will allow White & Case lawyers to find information quickly without disrupting their workflow, thereby reducing the time necessary to assemble and retrieve information relevant to each client's case."

Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants enterprises the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video, and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
