Verity TeleForm Software Now Includes Secure Web-based Scanning and Document Capture Capability
New Verity TeleForm Feature Ideal for Geographically-Distributed Organizations
Latest Version Also Provides Clustering Support for High-Availability Computing Environments
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2005-05-03 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced the availability of Verity® TeleForm® Version 9.1, the latest version of the company's award-winning, market-leading high volume, high accuracy content capture solution.
Verity TeleForm is used by over 6,000 organizations in all industries to rapidly and securely scan, extract and validate information from paper-based forms, images and documents from anywhere in the world. Once processed with Verity TeleForm, this information is then seamlessly transferred to an organization's line of business systems and repositories yielding up to 90 percent savings in the cost of data entry and collection. With this release, Verity TeleForm more fully addresses the capture needs of enterprises with global operations by adding secure browser-based scanning and integrated cluster support features.
The new Verity TeleForm Web Capture Option lets companies with branch offices, satellite plants or geographically-dispersed stores to easily scan and capture form and document-based content throughout the enterprise using any Web browser.
Elements of the new Verity TeleForm Web Capture Option include:
• Easy implementation and roll-out by means of a web browser plug-in;
• Minimal user training, a result of the intuitive, browser-based interface;
• Point-of-capture indexing so users who are most familiar with the content can add appropriate metadata; and,
• Quick integration with existing business processes through extensive application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow for a high degree of customization.
"This new Web-based distributed capture capability has streamlined our processes and reduced our costs significantly. By replacing our scanner/FTP configuration with this intuitive Web-based user interface, remote locations are capturing, indexing and transmitting paper-based forms and documents to our central office with much more efficiency and accuracy than ever before-all with zero training." said Alex Mansfield, chief technology officer with Select Data.
The new release also builds upon Verity TeleForm's enterprise-class architecture with enhanced fault tolerance and scalability. TeleForm v9.1 adds integrated support for both file and database clustering to ensure extremely high levels of system availability in cases where mission-critical applications demand non-stop processing. This high-availability support virtually eliminates the potential for downtime, minimizing total cost of operations while enhancing the efficiency of revenue-related data processes.
"The enhancements in this latest release of Verity TeleForm will allow Verity resellers to better serve customers with multiple locations. It is even more of an enterprise-level content capture solution," said certified Verity Presidents Club partner Sam Hamood, Digital Document's director of sales and business alliances. "The increased scalability of this version better allows Digital Documents to deliver enterprise-class solutions that increase value and eliminate more costs out of our customers' content-focused processes."
Enterprise-class also describes TeleForm's security capabilities. Content security is enforced from the document scanning point to the processing of documents and forms, through to the export of data and images into back-end databases and applications. Features contributing to this performance include LDAP integration, single sign-on controls, password-protected PDF file exports, a revision control system with file transfer protection, as well as real-time and historical audit tracking that documents exactly how a form or document moves through the system.
Verity TeleForm continues to be the industry leader in both hand and type-written character-recognition accuracy with the use of Verity RecoFlex OCR/ICR engines. The product enables automated data validation and exception verification that further contribute to character-recognition accuracy.
"The capabilities found in Verity TeleForm 9.1 reflect Verity's understanding of and ability to build solutions that aid growing companies, whether they are opening their first branch office or extending operations to their fiftieth country," said Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity's president and chief executive officer. "The TeleForm Web Capture Option and high availability and scalability characteristics are features designed to increase customers' return-on-investment immediately and as organizations' intellectual capital management requirements grow more complex."
