NEWLY ANNOUNCED AUNGATE, COMPLINET PARTNERSHIP TO DELIVER WORLD'S FIRST AUTOMATED COMPLIANCE INFORMATION PLATFORM
Cambridge, England - 27 APRIL, 2005 - Aungate, a division of Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AUTN.L) and a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced a new partnership with Complinet, the market-leading publisher of regulatory information and provider of compliance services to the international financial services industry. Complinet and Aungate will now join forces to provide a solution that will revolutionize the process of automating compliance information within the financial services industry.
A major challenge faced by financial services firms in today's stringent regulatory environment is to ensure that all employees, and particularly legal and compliance staff, are fully up to date on all the latest regulatory information. Today over 1,000 financial services firms around the globe rely on Complinet to provide them with the very latest regulatory information. However, they also have rich collections of valuable information within the enterprise stored in policy manuals, documents and e-mails. Very often this information is difficult to locate, is stored on a variety of different systems, in various formats, and individuals within an organisation are not even aware of its existence. By employing a tailored implementation of the Aungate software provided under this alliance, firms will now be able to access all this internal content and combine it with the high quality content feeds from Complinet within one seamless environment.
The end result for the compliance professional is that they will be able to obtain a coherent and comprehensive view of all matters relating to any chosen topic. When dealing with a compliance issue they will not only have complete access to the latest regulations and best practice advice but will also be able to cross-reference this with the internal policies and uncover, often hidden, stores of unstructured information contained in documents around the company network.
By using the inherent intelligence of the Autonomy IDOL software and the structured content taxonomies provided by Complinet, compliance professionals are able to organize their internal information against key regulatory concepts - providing structure and intelligence to previously unstructured information. It will also allow companies to automate the process of managing the flows of compliance information throughout their business - receiving alerts when regulations change, helping them to manage and update their internal policies and giving them an understanding of where in the organization valuable information is held.
Ian Black, Managing Director of Aungate said "Aungate is the de facto standard for powering compliance, monitoring and enforcement operations, and deployed inside the world's leading regulators and stock exchanges such as the US SEC and NYSE, as well as global banks and litigation companies, underlines the significant value of automation. We are proud to work with Complinet to further extend value to the enterprise by automating an end-to-end compliance process that significantly reduces burdensome manual tasks and compliance risks. Our joint offering will also provide Compliance officers for the first time with the Automated Intelligent Management (AIM) of policies and procedures. This further strengthens Aungate's position as the world's only automated compliance solution for the intelligent and automated monitoring of text, email and voice content."
Nick Roberts, North American CEO of Complinet said "For years our clients have relied on us to provide them with the highest quality structured compliance information. By joining forces with Aungate we are now delighted to be able to offer clients the ability to use this content and combine it with their own in a way that has never been possible before. We firmly believe that by implementing this solution our clients will reduce costs and greatly improve efficiency."
