AUTONOMY EXPECTS FIRST QUARTER 2005 RESULTS TO BE CONSIDERABLY AHEAD OF CONSENSUS ESTIMATES
SCHEDULES FIRST QUARTER RESULTS & CONFERENCE CALL
SAN FRANCISCO, California and CAMBRIDGE, England - April 5th, 2005 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU.) ("Autonomy" or "the Company"), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it expects revenues and earnings for the first quarter of 2005 to be considerably ahead of market consensus estimates for revenues and earnings and above the range of Q1 2005 revenue forecasts of $16 million to $18 million discussed during the Company's fourth quarter 2004 conference call in January 2005. Autonomy reported revenues of $16.4 million and earnings of $0.02 for the first quarter of 2004.
Commenting on trading in the first quarter of the current financial year, Dr. Mike Lynch, Group CEO of Autonomy said today: "We are pleased to announce that our first quarter 2005 results are expected to show good growth and strength. This result will have been delivered despite traditional seasonality which sees Q1 revenues below those of Q4 of the prior year. These results point to a continuing improvement in the business climate and an exceptionally high win rate over our competitors."
These results are preliminary and subject to the usual quarterly financial review by Autonomy's independent auditors.
Results for the first quarter of 2005 will be announced on 20th April 2005. A teleconference call to discuss these results will be hosted on 20th April 2005, at 9.30am BDT. The call will be available live via webcast over the World Wide Web. To access the live webcast, investors are directed towards the investor relations section of Autonomy's website, http://www.autonomy.com. Investors should go to the website approximately 15 minutes prior to the start time of the call to register.
