ISVs Can Rapidly Integrate Advanced Workflow Capabilities into Enterprise Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2005-03-29 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced availability of Verity® LiquidBPM Software Developer's Kit (SDK), a new way for independent software vendors (ISVs) to integrate advanced business process management (BPM) capabilities into enterprise applications.
The integrated Verity LiquidBPM SDK offers a comprehensive application programming interface (API) set that gives the developer unmatched capabilities when building applications that require - or would be enhanced by - workflow process automation. Further, based on widely used standards, such as Java, XML, SOAP, LDAP, HTTP and JDBC, the rich API set ensures rapid integration with a wide range of frameworks.
Key components of the Verity LiquidBPM SDK include:
• Verity LiquidBPM BPM Engine - a highly-optimized runtime Java workflow component featuring caching, thread-pooling, persistence, clustering, load balancing, notification and scalability, all resulting in superior business process management;
• Verity LiquidBPM Studio - a visual design IDE for programmers to develop workflows by dragging and dropping pre-defined and custom tasks. The LiquidBPM Studio offers the ability to model complex workflows including sub-workflows, attach data as attributes and launch and test data as well as test workflows;
• Verity LiquidBPM Manager - provides business activity monitoring (BAM) services that give control and insight into the activity of workflows individually and as a collective group. Additional capabilities include isolating bottlenecks in workflows, gathering and analyzing statistics and reporting; and,
• Verity LiquidBPM BPEL Orchestrator - an extensive set of tools used to build automated business processes that use Web services based on the BPEL4WS standard. The toolset includes design, orchestration and monitoring tools.
Other LiquidBPM SDK features include code generators to simplify integration with external systems through custom tasks and for interfacing with RMI, COBRA, EJB and Web services; and source code for pre-built end-user interfaces to ease and speed integration of user-interaction components.
