Coemergence selects Verity K2 Developer to Enhance Performance of ACIS®
Verity's Search and Classification Technology to be Embedded into Coemergence's Advanced Opportunity Discovery™ Software Solution
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and HALIFAX, NS - 2005-02-08 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investments, today announced that its Verity® K2 Developer (K2D) OEM search and classification technology will be embedded into Coemergence's advanced knowledge-based software solution, ACIS®.
ACIS effectively captures and leverages the competitively rich human intelligence that exists within companies in the forms of insights, speculation, opinions and industry chatter. The solution weaves this previously uncaptured wealth of critical intelligence with information from disparate published sources, providing users with relevant, real-time alerts. The resulting strategic knowledge provides early warnings of opportunities and threats, enabling companies to gain a sustainable competitive advantage.

While searching for a tool to further complement the value of their innovative Opportunity Discovery™ software, Coemergence evaluated numerous enterprise-caliber search technologies before partnering with Verity. Coemergence's choice of Verity, was driven by its robust search and classification capabilities, used to alert individuals of new, pertinent information as well as Verity's ability to work as a true OEM partner on both technical and service matters.
The Profiler component of Verity's K2D is a high performance engine used to classify documents. The Profiler compares a stream of documents to a set of stored queries or topics, and performs high speed matching between documents and queries. The Profiler is used to develop messaging, routing and classification systems as well as other applications that trigger business processes based on a specific document's content.
