ZANTAZĀ® Releases Lotus Notes Version of its Market Leading Email Archiving Solution
New Solution Gives IBM Lotus Domino/Notes Users Greater Ability to Mitigate Information-Related Risk While Reducing Email Management and Storage Costs
PLEASANTON, CA (February 1, 2005) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management solutions, today announced the availability of ZANTAZ EAS for Notes, the Lotus Domino version of the company's industry-leading and award-winning ZANTAZ Enterprise Archive Solution. ZANTAZ EAS for Notes is a highly scalable, policy-driven email archiving and management solution for storage optimization, message retention and compliance. ZANTAZ EAS for Notes leverages the global parent-child architecture of the ZANTAZ EAS product family, delivering a proven solution that scales to tens of thousands of geographically-dispersed users while reducing email storage requirements by 50% to 80%. This announcement was made at LegalTech New York (Booth 2116/2118).
"We are very excited about extending the ZANTAZ Enterprise Archive Solution into the Lotus Notes customer base," said Joe Romanowski, Vice President of Product Strategy at ZANTAZ. "Our customers have encouraged us to build a Lotus Notes email archiving solution based on the scalable, proven ZANTAZ EAS architecture. Now, customers can take advantage of the unique features, functionality and benefits of ZANTAZ EAS across multiple email platforms and files systems."
With its high scalability and superior performance, ZANTAZ EAS for Notes gives organizations the ability to efficiently and cost-effectively implement enterprise-wide policies for the retention, management and control of valuable corporate information such as email and instant messages. The explosive growth in email communications over the past several years has led to a prevalence of severely overloaded email servers within corporate IT environments, resulting in poor performance and availability and increased hardware and administrative costs. ZANTAZ EAS for Notes eliminates these problems by offloading Domino servers based on corporate retention policies, significantly improving email communications performance and availability.
According to the Radicati Group, IBM Lotus Domino/Notes is the second most popular corporate email system worldwide with a 24 percent installed base market share, second only to Microsoft Exchange/Outlook with a 33 percent share. Radicati reports that the Lotus Domino/Notes messaging platform has an installed base of 85 million active seats worldwide.
By applying enterprise-wide single instance storage and highly effective compression algorithms to the archived information, ZANTAZ EAS significantly reduces total storage requirements and related costs. The ability to access and search relevant electronic records without delay can be critical to an organization's defense against pending litigation or regulatory investigations. By proactively archiving email and files, ZANTAZ EAS allows corporations to maintain records in an easily accessible archive, reducing the risk of potential fines or sanctions associated with not producing data in a timely manner in response to a discovery request.
"The release of ZANTAZ EAS for Notes supports ZANTAZ' strategy for delivering solutions that address the broad range of operational and legal risks associated with managing and protecting email and other electronic records," said Peter Gerr, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. "In light of the considerable challenges of addressing regulatory compliance and corporate governance mandates, we expect ZANTAZ to benefit as the company continues to develop new technologies and best practices that will help keep customers ahead of the information risk curve. By any measurement, it's difficult to not call ZANTAZ one of the hottest emerging companies in its market."
General availability of ZANTAZ EAS for Notes begins this month.
