CENTEGRA HEALTH SYSTEM SELECTS AUTONOMY TO SUPPORT PATIENT CARE
Autonomy's Technology Streamlines Document and Information Access for more than 3,000 Health System Associates
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - January 25, 2005 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU.), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that Centegra Health System has implemented Autonomy's IDOL server to expedite the retrieval and delivery of critical information for Associates within the organization. More than 3,000 users across the organization's three hospitals and several outlying clinics will use Autonomy's technology to retrieve documents related to system operations quickly and cost-effectively.
With Autonomy's IDOL server, Centegra Health System can streamline workflow and provide efficient access to organizational resources. As the company sought to extend the capability of its existing systems and improve access to resources for its employees, Centegra needed to have the capability to index, categorize, retrieve and deliver valuable resources in minimal time. Autonomy's IDOL server integrates seamlessly with Centegra's existing Vignette content management solution, creating a valuable end-to-end solution for the organization. Ease of deployment and cost were also determining factors in the decision to choose the Autonomy IDOL server solution.
"Our users wanted a central repository for information and documents with the facility to access information quickly and easily with," said Darlene Maly, Senior Applications Analyst, Centegra Health System. "We chose Autonomy because it met our needs and did not require significant customization. Without Autonomy, users would have to search through huge volumes of information and deal with the consequences of years of people filing things away in obscure locations - a timely and costly exercise."
"Efficient access to organizational resources and the resulting cost savings are essential for the long-term viability of today's enterprise," said Stouffer Egan, US CEO, Autonomy. "Autonomy's infrastructure is an important element in helping organizations index, track and retrieve crucial information, with little effort or maintenance."
Autonomy's unique IDOL integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants enterprises the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video, and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
