New Report From Leading I.T. Market Research Firm, Names ZANTAZĀ® as the Revenue Leader in Email Archiving
PLEASANTON, CA (January 11, 2005) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management solutions, today announced that it has been named the email archiving market leader based on 2003 revenues worldwide. According to IDC's Worldwide Email Archiving Applications 2004-2008 Forecast and 2003 Vendor Shares Market Analysis Report (IDC # 32639, December 2004), ZANTAZ had a leading 35% revenue market share for its hosted and onsite solutions.
The report, published by IDC, a global market intelligence and advisory firm in the information technology and telecommunications industries, examines the email archiving applications market by looking at solution providers and overall trends. It presents the firm's first market sizing and forecast for email archiving applications delivered as software, a hosted service or an appliance, along with 2003 vendor revenue and market shares.
"IDC's recognition of our revenue leadership position in the email archiving market is a clear validation of our pioneering vision and consistent execution over the years," said Steve King, President and CEO of ZANTAZ. "This is yet another testament of our ability to deliver proven solutions that enable customers worldwide to effectively manage electronic document and messaging resources, fully comply with industry regulations and quickly respond to litigation and discovery requests."
According to IDC, worldwide email archiving applications revenue has nearly doubled over the past year and is expected to continue to grow at a compound annual growth rate of over 50% through 2008. Mergers and acquisitions involving email archiving, storage software and content management vendors are transforming the landscape of this emerging market. Demand will continue to be driven by the explosive growth in email and other electronic records, the increased regulatory environment and focus on corporate governance, and the need to respond to urgent litigation and discovery requests.
"The need to know what information your firm has and where you can store and find that information in an efficient and cost-effective manner is driving the surge in demand for email archiving applications," said Julie Rahal Marobella, Senior Research Analyst, Information Management for Compliance Service for IDC. "The email archiving market, with its many players, is definitely one to watch closely in the coming years as we begin to see more market consolidation and a growth in international and domestic compliance concerns. As the revenue market leader in 2003, ZANTAZ is well-positioned to build on its broad suite of hosted and onsite email archiving solutions for mailbox management, compliance and litigation support."
