ZANTAZ® Secures $20 Million in Financing Led by General Atlantic Partners
New Partnership to Accelerate Product Development, Expand Sales and Marketing, and Further Grow Market Leadership Position
PLEASANTON, CA (January 6, 2004) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the leader in compliance and electronic discovery solutions, today announced that it has secured $20 million in funding through a new partnership with General Atlantic Partners, LLC along with participation from existing investors. General Atlantic Partners is the world's leading direct investment firm focused exclusively on information technology, process outsourcing and communications businesses globally. Joining the ZANTAZ Board of Directors from General Atlantic Partners will be Peter Currie, Partner, and Anton Levy, Senior Associate. Additional terms of the financing were not disclosed.
ZANTAZ is the leading provider of end-to-end compliance and electronic discovery solutions for the financial services industry, government agencies and companies in other industries. ZANTAZ was first to market with email and IM compliance solutions designed specifically to address securities industry books and records retention, retrieval, and supervision requirements-in particular, SEC Rules 17a-3 and 17a-4, NASD Rules 2210, 3010 and 3110 and NYSE Rules 342 and 440.
In 2003 ZANTAZ continued its rapid expansion by doubling its customer base and growing revenue by nearly 300 percent year over year. In addition, ZANTAZ established itself as the leader in data restoration and electronic discovery solutions, increasing the throughput of its data restoration capacity by 60 percent, while completing a number of large-scale restoration and e-discovery projects.

ZANTAZ will use the new funding to accelerate product expansion and delivery through internal development and strategic acquisition, increase investment in marketing and sales, add new strategic alliances and further develop existing partnerships. ZANTAZ will also leverage the new investment to expand into new markets and geographies, as well as build out its infrastructure and operations. In addition to General Atlantic Partners, other ZANTAZ investors in this round include Athena Technology Ventures, ComVentures, Geneva Venture Partners, Novus Ventures and Red Rock Ventures.
