E.REPUBLIC SELECTS AUTONOMY TO POWER BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE APPLICATION FOR IT CLIENTS
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - January 5, 2005 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU.), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that e.Republic, the leading media, event and research company focused on U.S. state and local governments, has selected Autonomy as the corporate standard for intelligent information processing. Through its deployment of Autonomy, e.Republic provides a highly customized and personalized experience to thousands visiting the company's four corporate Web sites, as well as those using its Web-based business intelligence application, Digital Government Navigator.
Using Autonomy's comprehensive conceptual retrieval capabilities, e.Republic's Digital Navigator Portal automatically aggregates, indexes and classifies strategic information from state and local government-specific data repositories, and delivers that information straight to IT clients. Users benefit from a significant reduction of time spent searching for relevant data, which ultimately maximizes their overall efficiency. Autonomy's profiling, categorization and hyperlinking capabilities enable the Digital Government Navigator to automatically identify and deliver highly relevant RFP and bid information to subscribing IT vendors looking to do business within state and local government. With Autonomy's technology, Digital Government Navigator users are automatically alerted to suitable opportunities, so that they are armed with the most up to date and accurate information they need to sell into the state and local market effectively and successfully.
"e.Republic is committed to providing its customers with the right data for their needs, quickly and accurately, helping them to find success when selling in to the state and local government sector," said Dennis McKenna, CEO, e.Republic. "Autonomy enables a fully personalized experience for each of our users, and we look forward to leveraging that capability to consolidate our leadership role in this area."
"Scores of satisfied Autonomy customers have gained a greater competitive edge by implementing its infrastructure technology and now e.Republic joins their ranks to achieve even greater success", said Stouffer Egan, U.S. CEO, Autonomy. "With Autonomy, e.Republic continues to differentiate itself as the leader in its field, providing strategic IT information for state and local governments."
Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants organizations the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across different departments and interest groups and enables them to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
