AUTONOMY NAMED TO THE ANNUAL ECONTENT 100
EContent Magazine Honors Autonomy's Infrastructure Technology for 2nd Straight Year
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. - December 13, 2004 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU.), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it has been acknowledged as one of the EContent 100, a list of companies that matter most in the digital content industry. The list provides a look at the stand-out companies defining the technology market during 2004 with their winning strategies and solutions, as evaluated by editorial staff. Autonomy was previously listed in 2003, a testament to the company's ongoing commitment to innovation. The EContent 100 list is available in the December print issue of EContent and online at www.econtentmag.com/econtent100.
"The EContent 100 recognizes the products such as Autonomy that demonstrate leadership in their respective fields," said Michelle Manafy, Editor of EContent magazine. "This stamp of approval is given by our editorial staff to those organizations that provide solutions that offer a strong combination of performance, features and vision. Autonomy's infrastructure software, especially its approach to managing unstructured information, clearly embodies the criteria."
"Autonomy's inclusion in the EContent 100 underscores its leading market position in infrastructure software for the enterprise," said Mike Lynch, CEO of Autonomy. "We are proud to be awarded this distinction and to be recognized as one of the world's most successful software providers."
Autonomy's unique IDOL technology integrates unstructured, semi-structured, and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants enterprises the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is the ability to process text, voice, and video, and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes, and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
