Oracle® Database 10g Enhanced with Verity® KeyView® Filter and Export Software Development Kits

High Performance File Filtering and Conversion Technologies Embedded in Oracle Database 10g

SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2004-12-08 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced its Verity® KeyView® Filter and KeyView® Export Software Development Kits (SDKs) for enterprise applications are key components of Oracle® Database 10g Release 2.

Verity KeyView Filter SDK provides the ability to filter documents on a wide variety of platforms. This SDK currently supports approximately 300 different file formats, enabling applications to extract content from many information sources.

Verity KeyView Export SDK rapidly converts multiple file formats into valid XML and Web-ready HTML formats to provide controlled data structure conversion. The SDK is embedded in Oracle Text, a feature of Oracle Database 10g, to handle indexing, retrieval, classification, and display of unstructured content in multiple file formats.

"Oracle Database 10g Release 2 will include many performance enhancements, including new document indexing capabilities," said Ken Ng, Oracle's vice president of Enterprise Information Management. "After a careful evaluation of available technologies, Oracle found the Verity KeyView Filter and Export SDKs to offer superior overall performance and robustness. Further, we felt that the Verity technical support was second to none. We believe that our partnership with Verity will yield meaningful benefits for Oracle and its database customers."

"Oracle Database 10g represents the benchmark in database performance. We are pleased that Oracle chose Verity's KeyView Filter and Export SDKs as key components of its upcoming database release," said Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity's president and chief executive officer.
