Verity Ultraseek Performs Search Across 11 Conservation International Web Sites Cost-Effectively
Environmental Organization Finds Search Engine Easy to Use and Implement
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2004-11-08 - Verity Inc., (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced that its powerful, downloadable Verity® Ultraseek® enterprise search software has been implemented across 11 Web sites operated by Conservation International, a 17 year-old, Washington, DC-based non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the Earth's natural heritage for future generations.
Conservation International focuses its efforts on science, economics, public policy and community participation to advance its cause. An important aid to the organization's communication efforts with its global constituents in over 40 countries is a diverse set of Web sites produced and managed by Conservation International that deal with a wide range of conservation issues. The sites cover the entire spectrum of conservation topics, from biodiversity, environmental leadership in business and ecotourism to scientific research material as well as three separate conservation funding mechanisms. In addition, Conservation International's field offices produce and maintain their own Web sites in their local languages.
"With Verity Ultraseek, we are able to easily extend search capabilities to all of our Web sites including those produced in the field, providing visitors access to a wider range of content, while maintaining low implementation costs," said Jennifer Carr, senior producer of online communication at Conservation International. "Visitors to our decentralized Web sites are now able to locate content which they might not have otherwise known about. Verity Ultraseek is easy to deploy and is highly reliable."
"Access to the important work conducted by Conservation International, its scientists, economists, communicators and educators as well as, donors and sponsors is made easier with Verity Ultraseek," said Andrew D. Feit, Verity's senior vice president of marketing. "This implementation highlights the remarkable ability of the Verity enterprise search engine to handle a high volume of content in a multitude of formats that resides in organizations' content repositories around the world."
