Verity and eFORCE Partner to Co-Market Integrated Portal Solution to the Healthcare Market

SUNNYVALE and HAYWARD, Calif. - 2004-09-21 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY) and eFORCE Inc. (www.eforceglobal.com) today announced an agreement to provide healthcare organizations with an integrated portal solution designed to lower costs and increase information exchange. The agreement calls for both companies to co-market and co-sell their respective technologies to each other's client base in the healthcare arena.

A global system integrator with development centers in the U.S., U.K. and India, eFORCE provides a secure, easy-to-deploy portal solution enabling healthcare providers to better manage collaboration with their patient's insurers. The company's Web-based self-service portal supports the electronic processing of eligibility, claims, and benefits, and draws on eFORCE's experience implementing leading portal technology from BEA Systems, IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Microsoft at its Global 2000 clients. With this agreement, joint customers will be able to leverage Verity® K2 Enterprise's advanced search, classification and recommendation capabilities within a portal framework consisting of repeatable processes, methodologies and technology deployed using the eFORCE Global Delivery Model™.

The eFORCE portal solution when coupled with Verity K2 Enterprise will enable healthcare providers to better manage and locate their mission critical information to do their jobs more effectively. The eFORCE portal is currently being used by leading health plans and physicians to improve collaboration, streamline operations, and reduce operating costs. Insurers using the portal have been able to establish themselves as a business partner of choice, creating stronger bonds between their plan and providers, and increase per case profitability. Improved quality and efficiency of care to patients are also important downstream benefits of the eFORCE Web-based Self-Service Portal.

"Our partnership with Verity will enable the eFORCE Web-based Self-Service Portal to become an even more effective tool for intellectual capital management that can be utilized by healthcare administrators to improve interactions with insurers, reduce operational costs, and ultimately, better meet the needs of patients," said John Hitchcock, vice president of marketing and alliances at eFORCE.

Verity K2 Enterprise's advanced search, classification and recommendation capabilities can enable users to quickly and easily search, browse and retrieve any content within the eFORCE portal. In addition, the Verity solution's real-time indexing capability can enable users to search and retrieve this information as soon as it is created or modified, resulting in improved communication of information and knowledge.

"eFORCE is an outstanding Verity partner in the healthcare market," said Brian Bennett, Verity's vice president of channel sales. "Our alliance with eFORCE is designed to help healthcare insurers and providers achieve faster ROI through automating formerly manual processes using web-based self-service technology. By integrating the enhanced search, classification and recommendation capabilities from Verity with eFORCE's Web-based Self-Service Portal Solution, joint healthcare customers now have a effective system for managing their intellectual capital."
