AUTONOMY SELECTED TO HELP CHAMPION CONSUMERS' RIGHTS IN THE NETHERLANDS
Cambridge, England - August 31, 2004 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.) a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that Consumentenbond, the organization responsible for acting as a watchdog for the Netherlands' consumers and communicating their findings with citizens, has selected Autonomy in partnership with Triple P to enable them to spot emerging trends in customer enquiries and improve communication with the public.
As the central agency responsible for all consumer enquiries from the Netherlands' 16 million citizens, Consumentenbond receives a high volume calls from citizens with queries ranging from safety concerns to government guidance. In order to process consumer queries quickly and efficiently, Consumentenbond uses Autonomy to index information from previous consumer enquiries held in a large library and allows agents to have automatic access to information which best matches the caller's enquiry. Following the success of this existing project, Consumentenbond have expanded their functionality set to include clustering which will enable Consumentenbond to identify hot topics and perform trend analysis entirely automatically. By adding an automatic level of intelligent analysis to consumer queries, Consumentenbond will be able to focus their editorial publishing department's efforts on the issues that most interest consumers.
Autonomy enables Consumentenbond to have a much more realistic understanding of the issues that consumers face. Consumentenbond have seen the success of Autonomy in their call center where they have seen a significant improvement in the quality of advice that they are able to give to consumers, and now Consumentenbond can take advantage of Autonomy's ability to perform intelligent analysis in real-time. Consumentenbond considers it their responsibility to provide consumers with the most up to date, accurate information available. By clustering information from customer queries, Consumentenbond can spot emerging trends and make sure that their monthly consumer magazines really engage with consumers on the burning issues which affect the choices they make. Autonomy enables Consumentenbond to keep their ear to the ground and ensure we are giving the level of service and guidance consumers should expect.
"We are pleased to cement our working relationship with both Consumentenbond and Triple P, our local partner. This renewed project demonstrates the value Consumentenbond have recognized from their initial deployment of Autonomy," said Dominic Johnson, Group Marketing Director, Autonomy. "In order to make informed choices, consumers are dependent upon sound guidance from agencies such as Consumentenbond; Autonomy increases their ability to keep make consumers aware of all the factors that could influence their decisions."
