Dralasoft Workflow Earns "Visionary" Quadrant Listing In Magic Quadrant Research

Study of Pure-Play Business Process Management (BPM) Market Points to Accelerating Demand for BPM Products Through 2004

WESTMINSTER, CO - 2004-07-24 - Dralasoft, Inc., a leading innovator of Java™ technology for Business Process Management (BPM), today announced that it has earned placement in the "Visionary" quadrant in a major BPM product study published by industry research firm Gartner, Inc.

Gartner's study, "Magic Quadrant for Pure-Play BPM, 2004", is a qualitative evaluation of the 50 top pure-play BPM vendors. The report, according to its introduction, is a "‘snapshot' of the pure-play BPM market" that "identifies vendors active in this space and characterizes their roles in the industry."

In this year's study, Gartner heralds the accelerating growth in the BPM solutions category, especially what it calls the human-to-human, or "H2H" segment. Referring to last year's report, Gartner states that the market, "buoyed by short-term and midterm successes," is "eclipsing the estimates…made in 2003, when we predicted 10 percent to 15 percent internal rates of return." The report further notes that revenue for BPM providers totaled more than $1.2 billion in 2002, with 20 percent growth now anticipated for the years 2003 and 2004.

"Business Process Management, as a comprehensive and effective business improvement tool, is finding widespread acceptance in the marketplace," said Suresh Ramaswamy, president and chief technical officer of Dralasoft. "We are pleased that Dralasoft continues to be the platform of choice for companies and OEMs the world over who demand exceptional workflow management."

Dralasoft Workflow is a comprehensive, enterprise-class solution that leverages the full value of Java and XML to reduce complexity and costs. Comprised of three components—Dralasoft Workflow Engine, Dralasoft Workflow Studio, and Dralasoft Workflow Manager—Dralasoft Workflow provides everything needed to design, deploy, and manage business processes in Java environments for embedded and IT infrastructures.

Evaluation Criteria

In its Magic Quadrant BPM study, Gartner Inc. evaluated the products of vendors according to two major classes of criteria—Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.

Ability to Execute is determined by measuring the vendor's technical expertise, technology assets, and financial and marketing resources. Completeness of Vision, a long-range metric, includes analysis and assessment of the vendor's current product features and its understanding of technical and marketing issues, as well as its ability to innovate, differentiate its products, and grow its business.

According to a Gartner definition, "Visionaries", the lower right segment of the Magic Quadrant, represent vendors who "have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service delivery."

The Magic Quadrant is Gartner, Inc.'s opinion and is an analytical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It measures vendors against Gartner defined criteria for a marketplace. The positioning of vendors within a Magic Quadrant is based on the complex interplay of many factors. Gartner does not advise enterprises to select only those firms in the "Leaders" quadrant. In some situations, firms in the Visionary, Challenger, or Niche Player quadrants may be the right matches for an enterprise's requirements. Well-informed vendor selection decisions should rely on more than a Magic Quadrant.
