Verity and Lemontree completes delivery of an advanced search and categorisation solution to the Church of Sweden
EPSOM, UK - 2004-07-23 - Verity, a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organisations to maximise the return on their intellectual capital investment, and Lemontree, a Swedish reseller and system integration partner of Verity, announces that the Church of Sweden has "gone live" with Verity's powerful, downloadable Verity(r) Ultraseek enterprise search software. Verity is being used to search across the Church of Sweden's own and affiliated websites. Lemontree delivered the solution and integrated it with Church of Sweden's existing applications, including a CRM system from Abalon.
The Church of Sweden is the biggest Christian foundation in Sweden, with approximately 7.5 million members. It has recently undergone a series of operational improvements in an effort to interact with its members and suppliers more efficiently. In order to achieve this, it has carried out a customer-facing portal project that has been divided into two sub-projects: Abalon's CRM system was implemented as phase one and the next phase substituted the existing search and categorisation solution with Verity's Ultraseek.
The new portal has approximately 100,000 documents stored on it and it is growing rapidly. Information includes chat boards and events, Church history and information about other denominations. Most of this information is structured but there is an increasing amount of unstructured data. Verity Ultraseek is also used to search and categorise information across the Swedish Church's affiliated Web sites that can be accessed through the Church's portal.
The Church of Sweden based its decision on functionality, ease-of-use and integration capabilities. A procurement process was carried out and nine different vendors were evaluated. After a thorough evaluation of the vendors and an extensive test period, the Church of Sweden chose Lemontree, whose basis was Verity's Ultraseek. This solution will be the cornerstone in the information retrieval initiative at the Church of Sweden and it is now tightly integrated with the existing CRM solution.
According to Jakob Sverker from the Church of Sweden, "The Church secretariat has a clear vision about how to improve the search capabilities within the Church of Sweden and its thousands of websites and other systems. It was important to procure an efficient search solution with the capability to categorise information in accordance with our taxonomies. The search solution also needed to meet our extensive requirements on existing functionality and integrate easily with our CRM system. Our evaluation showed that Lemontree's solution based on Verity Ultraseek came out as number one among stiff competition from other well-respected candidates."
