AUTONOMY ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH MICROLINK IN GOVERNMENT SECTOR
Alliance Draws on Expertise of Both Companies to Provide Clients With Complete Knowledge Management Solutions
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - June 28, 2004 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, and MicroLink, LLC, a small business government and commercial services contractor specializing in IT infrastructure services, knowledge management solutions, and enterprise management solutions, today announced a strategic partnership to provide complete knowledge management solutions and services to MicroLink clients. This union draws on both companies' expertise in helping organizations manage and use information more effectively and to streamline collaboration and business operations.
Organizations face the common challenge of effectively managing an unprecedented amount of data in the current business environment. Increasingly, organizations are turning to a complete knowledge management solution to meet this challenge. MicroLink provides quality services to the government sector that assist in project management and provides solutions required to ensure success and results. MicroLink's services include IT infrastructure services, enterprise management solutions, software development, system administration and operations, and network security and engineering.
With Autonomy's technology, MicroLink offers comprehensive knowledge management solutions. Autonomy provides the resources needed to this end, with its dynamic solution that understands unstructured data based on its content. Autonomy's solution is automatic and performed in real-time, facilitating effective collaboration across the organization and saving precious time. MicroLink and Autonomy are already working together on joint customer installations at various United States national security agencies.
"With Autonomy we now provide a compelling knowledge management solution for our government and commercial clients," said Dave Truitt, President, MicroLink, LLC. "Autonomy's technology enables our customers in the DoD, Intelligence Community, and other national security related agencies to achieve enterprise-wide horizontal integration thus increasing productivity, efficiency, and ROI."
"MicroLink enables organizations to manage their information more effectively," said John Cronin, vice president, government sector, Autonomy. "The strategic decision to partner with MicroLink further establishes Autonomy's technology as the standard knowledge management solution in the government sector. We have had success working on joint projects together and look forward to additional projects in the future."
Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants enterprises the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video, and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
