Cricket Australia Selects Verity K2 Enterprise for Intranet and Internet Sites
Leading Australian Sporting Organization Finds Verity's Search Technology 'Best Choice'
YARRAMBAT, Australia - 2004-05-10 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced that Cricket Australia, the governing body of the game of cricket in Australia, has chosen Verity® K2 Enterprise (K2E) intellectual capital management software to provide search capabilities on its new intranet and Internet sites.
Cricket Australia, which oversees all aspects of the game of cricket in Australia, from fostering interest and participation among youngsters to managing men's and women's elite teams involved in international competitions, plans to make Verity K2E its standard search technology.
"We sought best of breed technology for searching our Web site and our internal network," said Andrew Twaits, Cricket Australia's general manager of legal and business affairs. "As a result of our research, we concluded that Verity is the market leader in intellectual capital management and clearly the best choice for Cricket Australia."
Twaits pointed to the breadth of search capabilities, outstanding customer base in Australia, strong local support from Verity Australia Pty Ltd, and ease of integration with the content management system used by Cricket Australia as reasons for the selection of K2E. "Using K2E provides a competitive advantage for Cricket Australia. Verity's product, support and professionalism made our decision an easy one to make," he said.
Cricket Australia will deploy Verity K2E on its Internet site in late May and their intranet a few months later. The organization also plans to implement Verity K2E's classification capabilities on its intranet and Internet sites over time.
"We are pleased to be a strategic partner to Cricket Australia's efforts to advance the sport of cricket in its home country and around the world," said Hugo Sluimer, Verity's senior vice president of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia-Pacific operations. "Whether a novice to the sport, a keen supporter, a member of the media or a potential sponsor, all will be able to find relevant information faster and more accurately with the aid of Verity K2 Enterprise intellectual capital management software."
