VIRAGE JOINS GLOBAL SOCIETY FOR ASSET MANAGEMENT

Virage Welcomed into Elite Group of Digital Asset Management Vendors, Integrators and Users

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - April 19, 2004 - Virage, Inc., a wholly owned division of Autonomy Corp. (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.) and a leading provider of rich media communication and content management software, today announced that it has joined the Global Society for Asset Management (G-SAM), the world's first international trade and professional association dedicated to the rapidly-growing field of digital asset management (DAM). Members include an elite group of digital asset management vendors, integrators and users such as IBM, Sony, Sun Microsystems and 20th Century Fox.

Founded in April 2003, G-SAM is a member-driven association with the goal of overcoming industry inhibitors and advancing best practices in DAM across multiple industries. G-SAM is focused on the development of best practices by facilitating dialogue across user and vendor communities. In local, national and international gatherings and symposiums, G-SAM provides the framework to aggregate and communicate critical issues for the advancement of DAM as a business initiative.

"Virage is committed to technology excellence and providing cutting-edge products that meet our users' requirements for effectively managing their organization's digital content," said Bradley Horowitz, chief technology officer and co-founder of Virage, Inc. "Through our affiliation with G-SAM, we can better understand and resolve the critical issues regarding DAM and extend this to promote best practices to better serve our global customers."

"The mission of G-SAM is to provide a forum and community for digital asset management users, vendors, consultants and system integrators to raise and solve industry issues," commented Per Sjofors, EVP Strategy and Business Development for G-SAM. "We are pleased to further the development of this forum with the latest member, Virage. We welcome Virage's involvement and contributions to the industry with participation in G-SAM's working committees and special interest groups."

With branches in the United States, Europe and Asia, G-SAM is completely independent, not-for profit, self-funded and vendor-neutral. The organization serves as an umbrella group for all aspects of activity and innovation in the DAM arena. For more information on G-SAM, please visit www.g-sam.org.
