ZANTAZĀ® Releases Exchange Archive Solution (EAS) 3.2 with OWA 2003 Compatability and Enhanced Search Capabilities

Product Upgrade Underscores ZANTAZ' Commitment to Delivering Customer-Driven Solutions

PLEASANTON, CA (April 15, 2004) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the leader in e communications management solutions for compliance, electronic discovery and storage management, today announced the release of Exchange Archive Solution (EAS) version 3.2. This latest release significantly improves indexing performance, search capabilities and access to archived email for remote users.

ZANTAZ' first upgrade of EAS since the acquisition of EDUCOM TS, Inc. in February of 2004 adds significant improvements to the EAS graphical user interface (GUI) and expands the framework of the EAS architecture as a platform for digital records management and content archiving. EAS 3.2 builds upon its industry-leading email management architecture, providing industry-unique, customer-driven features, such as single instance storage, global enterprise support, superior file compression, record-level retention granularity and automated PST location and migration.

"ZANTAZ EAS 3.2 reinforces our commitment to providing customers with the features and functionality necessary to easily store, access and search email in the Microsoft Exchange environment," said Craig Olson, Vice President of Marketing at ZANTAZ. "This is the first of many new product enhancements that will provide our customers lower storage costs, improved access to content for discovery and compliance, reduced administrative overhead, and increased employee productivity."

With EAS 3.2, customers will enjoy significantly increased throughput of email as it is indexed by the EAS system. Enhancements to the EAS indexing engine deliver a 4-fold performance improvement in email indexing time, providing users faster access to email once it is archived. These improvements build on EAS' established industry-leading performance, throughput and scalability.

Upgrades to EAS-Search include a redesigned, easy-to-use GUI to enable administrators to quickly establish retrieval indexes. A new scheduler enables less administrative involvement for routine index tasks, and provides a capacity-based statistical tool for administrators to proactively set up additional indexes. With EAS 3.2, the indexer also runs as a service, providing real-time indexing as email is captured by the server. These upgrades provide organizations with a faster and more efficient application for searching and retrieving email.

EAS 3.2 also provides compatibility with Microsoft Office OutlookĀ® Web Access (OWA) 2003. OWA 2003 provides users improved performance and security as well as a new interface that closely matches Microsoft Outlook 2003. This easy-to-use interface matched with the enhancements of EAS 3.2 delivers improved searching of archived public folders in advanced queries, searching one or multiple mailboxes in a single query and ability to flag messages for archival from OWA 2003. For administrators, this feature provides the seamless, immediate capture of email traffic in and out of the organization even when the sender or receiver is not on-site. Such functionality improves a user's ability to quickly and effectively comply with industry regulations.

With the deployment of EAS 3.2, companies will benefit from a quick return on investment as a result of numerous immediate improvements in efficiencies. Features such as the GUI-based indexer, built-in task scheduler, improved indexer performance and OWA 2003 compatibility make the tasks of email archiving and retrieval transparent and worry-free for end users.

Other key enhancements to EAS 3.2 include:

  • OST folder synchronization for traveling Outlook users
  • Active Directory snap-in for user policy administration
  • Enhanced auto enrollment features for EAS-Search index
  • Improved Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Recipient Administration
  • Superior .PST file migration clean-up
  • Extended public folder synchronization
