Verity Appoints Darren R. Johnson to Vice President of Sales for the Western Region of the United States and Latin America
Joins Company's Sales Management Team
SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2004-03-30 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that enables organizations to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced the appointment of Darren R. Johnson to vice president of sales for the western region of the United States and Latin America.
Johnson will report to Michael D. Mooney, senior vice president of field sales operations, the Americas and worldwide business development. In his new position at Verity, Johnson will oversee the sales activities of the Verity products lines in his territories.
"Darren is an exceptional team-builder and team leader," Mooney said. "He is an excellent addition to the Verity sales team. Before joining Verity, he was vice president of sales for the western region of the United States at ATG, Inc., where he accomplished outstanding sales achievements. Prior to ATG, Johnson was director of sales at Fort Point Partners, a systems integration and management consultancy focused on program management for Global 1000 companies. During his tenure there, Johnson developed the sales team and grew the company's professional services revenue from start-up to a $20 million annualized run rate, as well as contributed to the firm's growth from 20 to more than 300 employees. Johnson has also held sales positions at RFX Inc., a digital effects house in Hollywood, and WebFactory, a reseller of Silicon Graphics and Netscape solutions to e-commerce clients.

Johnson, a San Francisco resident, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from California Polytechnic University and completed post-graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley.
