AUTONOMY DISTINGUISHED BY TRANSFORM MAGAZINE FOR ITS INNOVATION AND VISION
Autonomy's Aungate Total Communications Management Solution Honored
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - January 27, 2004 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU.), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it has been distinguished as a leader by Transform Magazine for the 2003 Product of the Year award within the enterprise search category. Autonomy was praised for its Aungate division, which offers the world's first automated solution for enterprise compliance and litigation support.
Introduced in June 2003, Aungate is the only solution available that enables corporations to automatically analyze, review, understand and act upon any internal communications, including telephone calls, email and instant messages, to ensure that business communications meet appropriate codes of conduct and comply with specific industry regulations. For companies in highly regulated industries such as financial services, investment banking and litigation support, Aungate provides the ideal solution to achieve total communications compliance without the high cost of manual intervention.
Aungate is founded on Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL), a technology platform that integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information.
"We are honored that Autonomy has been recognized by Transform Magazine as one of the search industry's stand-out products of the year," said Ian Black, managing director of Aungate. "As enterprises struggle to manage the overwhelming volume of electronic communications generated by their workforce in forms such as email, instant messaging, corporate intranets and electronic documents, technology solutions like Aungate offer new breakthroughs to manage this information and minimize risk."
Transform Magazine Product of the Year finalists and winners were selected for innovation and advances in technology, outstanding value and proven market success. The selection process included intense market research, customer interviews and, in some cases, lab experience. Outside of Transform Magazine editors, input was sought from distinguished industry experts, including independent consultants and members of top analyst firms such as AMR, Doculabs, Forrester Research, Gartner, Inc., IDC and Ovum.
