AMEC plc Re-engineers Search Capabilities with Verity

SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2004-01-20 - AMEC plc, the international engineering services company, has selected Verity's advanced search, classification and personalization software Verity® K2 Enterprise (K2E) to manage information across its external website, AMEC.com, and its corporate intranet, AMECnet. Verity K2E will enable employees of AMEC and visitors to its website to find the right information quickly and effectively.

AMECnet is used by employees from a wide range of disciplines, such as engineering and support functions, searching for data including technical standards documentation, project notes and HR information. Visitors to the AMEC.com site consist primarily of potential employees, investors, analysts and clients. Both AMEC.com and AMEC.net are being re-developed to offer multi-lingual capabilities. The company will initially offer Verity K2E English and French Locales.

Verity was chosen following an extensive selection process because of its market-leading position and the robustness of the Verity K2E product. Verity also offered the best integration with AMEC's new content management system from Red Dot, which will be implemented following the Verity rollout.

"Verity stood out as the company most able to meet our current and future business needs," says David Mayoh, manager of AMECnet, AMEC plc. "While we did carry out an extensive search of other solutions in the market, Verity K2E was the only product that had the breadth and depth of capabilities that we need to offer both our employees and visitors to the AMEC websites."

"AMEC plc is a well-recognized name in the engineering sector and we are pleased to be chosen as their preferred partner for this project," says Andrew D. Feit, Verity's senior vice president of marketing. "Verity K2E will bring together all of AMEC's intellectual capital, making the right information available at the right time to the right people."
