U.S. Department of Defense Awards Certificate of Appreciation to Cardiff's Vice President of Worldwide Services
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) has recognized Patrick Ward's ongoing support to Navy Reservist staff
San Diego, CA - 2003-11-24 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of document capture and eForm solutions for the enterprise, today announced that Patrick Ward, Cardiff's vice president of worldwide services, has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the U.S. Department of Defense.
As a result of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the Department of Defense had to pull 295,000 men and women from their current jobs to help fight the global war on terrorism. Ward was nominated for the award by Andy Wells, senior consulting services engineer at Cardiff and member of the Navy Reserve, for his flexibility and support when Wells was called to service in the war on terrorism.
"Not only did Patrick swiftly release me when I was called to duty but he also has provided me with a smooth transition back into the company," said Andy Wells, senior consulting services engineer at Cardiff and member of the Navy Reserve. "Cardiff has been flexible and supportive in my decision to serve my country."
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve was put together to recognize those employers who voluntarily offered support and benefits beyond what was required by law to their employees who were asked to serve time. All employer recognition and awards originate from nominations by individual Reserve component members recognizing their employers for supportive employment policies and practices.
"Andy Wells is a valued Cardiff employee and we respect his sense of duty in serving our country and to protect our national security interests," said Patrick Ward vice president worldwide services at Cardiff. "I am honored to receive this for myself and on behalf of Cardiff."
