Cardiff Software Announces Availability of TELEform® Connect Agent for Hummingbird Enterprise™ Document Management System

Connect Agent is the latest in a long list of Cardiff integrations with numerous enterprise systems ranging from online portals to enterprise content management solutions

San Diego, CA - 2003-10-13 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of document capture and eForm solutions for enterprise business process automation, today announced the general availability of a Cardiff TELEform® Connect Agent for Hummingbird DM™, the advanced document and content management technology of Hummingbird Enterprise. The seamless integration of Cardiff's data and document capture solution with Hummingbird's premier document management solution will allow large enterprises and government agencies to quickly extract, capture, verify, process and index large quantities of information using production-level scanners, fax servers and the Internet.

The certified Connect Agent is available from Cardiff directly or from Cardiff reseller 5280 Solutions Inc., which developed the technology as part of its Uimport™ line of integration solutions. Uimport Release for Cardiff TELEform provides a complete solution for automated and continuous import of documents into Hummingbird DM libraries. 5280 Solutions is a full-service content management solution provider and EDMS systems integrator specializing in solutions built around Hummingbird products.

This packaged integration will enable organizations to use TELEform's proven capabilities to automatically send clean data, documents and attachments to the Hummingbird DM library. The Connect Agent also accommodates complete metadata mapping to the Hummingbird DM profile, which permits round-trip data flow and instant archival and retrieval. Ideal for customers with high volume, batch scanning requirements, the integrated solution provides companies in any industry with a reliable and customizable option for building an efficient capture process.

"By integrating the powerful capabilities of Hummingbird's document management system and Cardiff's award-winning data and document capture solution, organizations can dramatically reduce manual data entry costs and increase operating efficiency through accurate and timely processing of forms and documents," said Mark Seamans, chief technology officer at Cardiff. "5280's development of the TELEform Connect Agent for Hummingbird DM validates Cardiff's open architecture approach for enabling maximum enterprise interoperability."

The new Connect Agent enables TELEform users to export completed HTML and PDF forms and related attachments into the Hummingbird document management system. After indexing and quality assurance processes, the document is automatically detected by Uimport and stored in the Hummingbird DM library along with all applicable index fields (metadata) provided through TELEform indexing and recognition processes. Once archived, authorized users across the enterprise can easily conduct sophisticated searches to retrieve a requested form.

Availability

The TELEform Connect Agent for Hummingbird DM is available from Cardiff Software (800-659-8755) and 5280 Solutions (877-677-5280). The agents require Cardiff TELEform Elite or Enterprise and Hummingbird DM 5.X.
