Verity Wins Transform Magazine Readers Choice Award

Verity K2 Enterprise Honored in Search and Categorization Category

NEW YORK, NY and SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-09-18 - Transform Magazine, the CMP Media publication that serves those choosing, managing and using content and collaboration technologies, today announced Verity K2 Enterprise software is a winner of the magazine's first-ever Readers' Choice Awards.

Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, was honored as a winner in the Search and Categorization category, as voted by readers from among more than 50,000 eligible Transform subscribers.

"Until now, our editors have presided over all of our award programs," said Doug Henschen, Transform Editor-in-Chief. "This year we decided to let our readers choose their favorite products. The Transform Readers' Choice Awards honor the most appreciated products addressing content and collaboration management challenges. We congratulate Verity and the other winners on their achievement."

Out of a field of more than 261 software and hardware products, readers nominated 38 winners in 19 categories. "To be recognized by Transform's wide and varied group of readers who know and use Verity K2 Enterprise is a distinct honor," said Andrew D. Feit, Verity's senior vice president of marketing. "This Transform Readers' Choice Award further reinforces our belief that we are delivering on the promise of Verity K2 Enterprise and continuing to meet the needs of our enterprise customers."

To ensure a fair, one-vote-per-reader process among more than 50,000 eligible subscribers, Transform relied on a tightly controlled, Web-based voting system employing unique subscriber ID numbers.

The awards were presented yesterday at CMP Media's TechXNY, a week-long business technology showcase incorporating PC Expo, at the Javits Center in New York City.
