Verity Promotes John He to Vice President of Development
To Lead Product Development Efforts at Verity Sunnyvale with Focus on K2 Software
SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-09-16 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced the promotion of John Y. He to vice president of development.
He will continue to report to Dr. Ashok K. Chandra, Verity's senior vice president of development and new business activities. He was previously director of engineering at Verity's Sunnyvale location. In his new position, He will be responsible for the Verity K2 product development efforts at the Sunnyvale location, focusing the development team's efforts on enhancing and expanding the product's capabilities.
"John has played a crucial role in the success of the Verity K2 product line, which is used by more than 1,500 customers worldwide," said Dr. Chandra. "His extensive experience in software development and engineering will continue to help strengthen and enhance the products' capabilities, allowing current and future customers additional opportunities to maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment."
Prior to joining Verity, He held several senior engineering and software development positions at Informix in the United States and Singapore. He began his engineering career in Shanghai, China as a member of the faculty research center at the prestigious Fudan University.

He, a Fremont, Calif. resident, holds a BS in Computer Science from Fudan University and has published numerous technical papers on a range of computer science topics.
