Xerox Selects Virage Webcasting To Launch New Office Market Strategy
SAN MATEO, Calif. - May 6, 2003 - Virage, Inc. [NASDAQ: VRGE] today announced that Xerox Corporation has selected Virage VS Webcasting™ for a series of webcasts launching its new market strategy. On April 30 in New York City, Anne Mulcahy, chairman and CEO of Xerox, announced the company's new strategy and hosted special guest speakers Michael Hammer and Esther Dyson. By simultaneously webcasting the event both live and on-demand, Xerox was able to reach hundreds of customers, employees, business partners, and press who could not attend the presentations in New York. The strategy presentation, the most significant of the year from Xerox, is available on-demand at vswebcasting.virage.com/xerox/office.htm. Virage is a leading provider of video and rich media software.
"For business announcements of this magnitude, it's important for Xerox to get the message out broadly and clearly," said Andrew McKenna, manager of Streaming, Videoconferencing, and Satellite Technologies at Xerox. "Virage webcasting allowed us to deliver a high-quality viewing experience to our Web audience while also making the event immediately available on-demand. We're pleased with the Virage webcasting software because it allows us to produce large-audience events that are professional, reliable, and cost-effective."
VS Webcasting is the first enterprise software solution that simplifies and streamlines the entire workflow for producing live webcast events and on-demand or re-broadcast presentations for large audiences. An alternative to legacy satellite-based systems or expensive webcasting service providers, the VS Webcasting solution makes it easy for organizations to deliver high-quality video- and audio-based presentations. From event scheduling and preparation to real-time webcast operations to detailed event reporting, this solution provides powerful Web-based tools that make it easy to assemble and manage interactive webcasts. VS Webcasting combines streaming audio and video with slides, digital documents, software demonstrations, Web pages and other online media. The latest version of VS Webcasting will include proprietary new ScreenCast™ technology from Virage which enables presenters to share and demonstrate Web pages, Microsoft® Excel spreadsheets, Visio® diagrams, or any other document or application that can be displayed on a computer desktop.
