Verity Forms Alliances with Four Leading Security Access Management Software Vendors
Verity Provides Seamless Integration Paths for Identity Management and Access Control Applications from IBM, Netegrity, Oblix, RSA Security
SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-05-05 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced that the company has established alliances with four influential security access management software companies: IBM (NYSE: IBM), Netegrity Inc. (NASDAQ: NETE), Oblix and RSA Security (NASDAQ: RSAS). The alliances aim to provide enterprise customers with seamless integration of their security and knowledge management solutions.
Verity has developed integration paths to each of the access management partners' applications to enable joint customers to leverage their identity management and single sign-on applications with Verity® K2 Enterprise's advanced search, classification and personalization capabilities. The result is users will have quick, accurate and effective search through unstructured and structured data repositories without compromise to data integrity or access control.
"Many of Verity's premier customers use enterprise servers protected by software from IBM, Netegrity, Oblix or RSA Security. The integration between Verity K2 Enterprise and the identity management and access control software from these leading vendors enables enterprise users to access content across their servers through a single secure search interface," said Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity's president and CEO. "Verity observes the underlying security privileges defined by our partners' applications. If a user is not authenticated, the document listing will not be shown in the search results."
The value of knowledge assets can quickly diminish if unauthorized users access the information. According to Sue Feldman, research vice president of content management and retrieval software at market research firm IDC, "Single point of access to all enterprise content is one of the top three requirements that we hear from enterprises. However, this access must be secure, and it must be controlled so that only authorized users have access to each document or datapoint. Verity's alliances with IBM, Netegrity, Oblix and RSA Security will provide global enterprises more effective ways to build security solutions that integrate well with an efficient knowledge management solution. The combination can provide customers with strong return-on-investment on their information access platform."
