Verity and Digital Garage Establish Partnership to Sell and Support Verity Ultraseek in Japan
New Japanese Version of Verity Ultraseek Available to Digital Garage?s Customers
TOKYO, Japan and SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-04-28 - Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY) today announced an agreement with Digital Garage, Inc. to allow the Tokyo-based firm to serve as a premier distributor of Verity® Ultraseek software, formerly known as Inktomi Enterprise Search (IES), in Japan.
Digital Garage represented IES prior to Verity's acquisition of the Inktomi Corporation's enterprise search business in December 2002. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Verity is a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment.
Digital Garage, a pioneering company in all phases of the Japanese Internet business, has been a long-time technology partner of Inktomi. Digital Garage first introduced the Ultraseek product to the Japanese market in 1997. Since then, the company has been instrumental in the success of the product in Japan, with customers including: CTC, the Hitachi Group, Japanese national government, Mitsubishi Group, NTT Group, Unisys, and major broadcasting companies as well as many other large organizations.

Verity has also announced today the immediate availability of the new version of Verity Ultraseek version 5.0.4 for Japanese customers. The new localized release offers enhanced features and functionality to Ultraseek customers, improving information retrieval within their organizations and increasing productivity. New features include advanced relevance and query capabilities, quick summaries, an enhanced administration user interface (UI) and expanded security.
