Verity Partners with Finsiel (Telecom Italia Group) to Power Italian Government Portal
SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-04-15 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced that its K2 Enterprise software is being used by the Italian government on its citizen portal, www.italia.gov.it.
An Italian e-government initiative by the Department of Innovation and Technologies, the portal provides Italian citizens with information about government services, including procedures, forms, and different departments' office locations, as well as news and events. With its advanced search and content organization features, Verity® K2 Enterprise (K2E) enables users to find this information quickly and easily. Verity's content organization feature also provides administrators with the flexibility to automatically classify documents and leverage domain expertise to fine-tune the results, saving time and improving accuracy. Verity's partners on the project were Italian software company Scube NewMedia, and consulting firm and system integrator Finsiel (Telecom Italia Group).
"Searches performed using Verity K2E make it possible to find documents in the portal which includes the already-operative Web sites of all Italian public authorities," said Dr. Ambrogio Zirattu, director of the project at Finsiel's welfare division. "Verity's extensive experience in the government sector contributes to the success of the entire Italian Public Administration's online project."
