Companies Combine Sales Efforts To Deliver Turnkey Enterprise Webcasting Solution

LAS VEGAS - April 8, 2003 - Virage, Inc. [NASDAQ: VRGE], a leading provider of video and rich media communication software, today announced a mutual reseller agreement with RealNetworks®. Under the agreement, RealNetworks will resell the Virage VS Webcasting™ solution for enterprise webcasting, and Virage will resell the complete suite of RealNetworks products including RealOne™ and Helix™ families of products.

With this agreement, Virage and RealNetworks are joining forces to deliver a best-in-class solution for live and on-demand webcasting inside and outside the corporate firewall. "Enterprises have come to rely on webcasting to optimize and streamline communications with employees, customers, business partners, and investors," said Nagesh Pabbisetty, vice president, RealNetworks, Inc. "By combining our multi-format media delivery platform, Helix, with the Virage webcasting application, we're able to provide customers with a solution designed specifically for large-scale enterprise webcasting."

"RealNetworks is a proven leader in the streaming industry and we're delighted to work with them to offer our customers an off-the-shelf solution for enterprise webcasting," said Dave Girouard, senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development, Virage.
