Cardiff Software Unveils Web-Based Document Workflow and Capture Product at AIIM Conference; Solution to Extend Capabilities of Cardiff's Existing BPA Suite
Next-generation solution empowers distributed knowledge workers with ability to put document-driven processes online
New York, NY - 2003-04-07 - At the AIIM 2003 conference today, Cardiff Software Inc. announced a new Web-based document capture and workflow solution, Cardiff LiquidCapture™ 2003. Scheduled for a June 2003 release, LiquidCapture will extend Cardiff's powerful business process automation (BPA) suite by enabling distributed organizations to cost effectively leverage the Web to quickly on-ramp paper and electronic documents into a workflow process.
Cardiff's decision to launch LiquidCapture comes in response to strong market demand for a server-based, collaborative document capture solution accessible at the desktop level. According to the March 21, 2003 Document Imaging Report, InfoTrends Research Group is seeing a definite trend towards distributed scanning that is driving departmental and workgroup image scanning as the fastest growth segment with a respective 27 and 37 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2007. These figures are based on 2002 sales numbers that InfoTrends has collected for its upcoming Document Imaging Scanner Forecast and Analysis report. Cardiff's channel partners provided further validation for this market at the company's annual Connections Conference in February. Eighty-five percent of Cardiff resellers surveyed at the event cited a significant business need for a Web-based, distributed capture product.
Business applications, such as a mortgage loans and insurance claims, rely on remote office workers to generate relevant document sets that need to be routed for review, approvals and attachment of supporting documentation. Traditionally, these processes have been manually intensive, relying on mailing and faxing documents between offices. LiquidCapture satisfies the business problem with an easy-to-use and intuitive solution that empowers remote knowledge workers to assemble, categorize and route documents throughout an organization via the Web, thereby eliminating mailing costs, avoiding lost documents and increasing the speed at which documents are processed.
"Traditional document capture products have missed the mark," said Russ Gould, Cardiff's director of product management. "Production-level document capture solutions typically require an imaging specialist, while desktop scanning solutions are disconnected and lack the necessary workflow and server capabilities to be a collaborative enterprise solution. LiquidCapture fills this gap with a server-based document capture and workflow solution that leverages an intuitive Web-based interface to put capture at the fingertips of every desktop across the enterprise."
LiquidCapture was designed to meet the needs of demanding IT requirements while providing a solution that is easy for any knowledge worker to operate with little training. Key product differentiators include:
Next-Generation Web-Based Architecture
Web scanning and indexing using a standard Web browser attached to any input device for paper scanning. Web Services support enables IT to be more flexible and less tied to specific platforms.
Graphical Workflow Process Builder
Sequential and exception branching workflow for the processing of batches and documents.
An Extendable Architecture
COM-based interface enables easy connectivity to existing business applications.
Email Notifications
Automated "alerts" trigger emails to users as document sets are routed through the various check points in the workflow.
A Cost-Effective Price for All Document Throughput
No per-page pricing, just one price for unlimited page volume.
LiquidCapture is built on industry standard technologies to ensure that the solution seamlessly integrates into a customer's existing IT environment. LiquidCapture delivers an unmatched architecture by combining Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), SQL database technology, Active Directory and LDAP authentication, ActiveX, Component Object Model (COM) extension architecture, Microsoft Management Console (MMC) framework for administration and XML-based Web Services.
Pricing, Availability and Show Demo Information
Pricing for Cardiff LiquidCapture will start at $11,500 for the server, five (5) concurrent user licenses and unlimited volume of document throughput. General availability is projected for June 2003. Visitors to the AIIM 2003 Exposition and Conference will be able to view a LiquidCapture demo at Cardiff's booth (#2353).
Cardiff's Enhanced Business Process Automation Suite
The release of LiquidCapture represents a significant extension of Cardiff's established suite of BPA solutions. Market leading Cardiff TELEform provides rich client data capture capabilities to convert paper-based forms into digital data, dramatically reducing manual data entry. LiquidCapture completes the other side of the capture equation with a Web-based document capture solution that eliminates inter-office mailing and paper routing costs.
Representing the process element of the transaction lifecycle, Cardiff LiquidOffice provides Web-based workflow process for the automated routing, tracking and approval of electronic forms and documents. The cycle is completed with the addition of Cardiff's comprehensive collection of Connect Agents to ensure maximum enterprise application connectivity. The end result is an integrated suite of products that automates the entire transaction lifecycle for forms and documents - delivering businesses increased performance and measurable financial value.
Cardiff solutions help organizations meet mandates dictated within the Government Paperwork Elimination Act, the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
