Verity Provides Certified Content Categorization for Stellent Content Management System

Verity Profiling Technology Fulfills Stellent?s Categorization Partner Program Requirements Certification Signals Tightening of Long-standing Partnership

SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2003-03-17 - Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise software that helps organizations maximize the return on their intellectual capital investment, today announced Stellent Inc. (NASDAQ: STEL) has certified specially-tailored Verity categorization technology for use with its content management system. Stellent is a global provider of content management solutions.

The integration of the Verity Profiler product with the Stellent Content Management system allows enterprise users and administrators to populate Stellent Content Server metadata quickly, accurately and automatically when new or modified content is added into a Stellent data repository. Further, it fully complies with Stellent's open application program interface (API) for categorization, offering Stellent customers an important new choice to best meet their categorization needs.

"Stellent understands customers want to select categorization technologies that serve all aspects of their businesses well," said Dan Ryan, Stellent's senior vice president of marketing and business development. "That was the motivation for the Stellent Categorization Partner Program. It allows users to use the same classification technology to recommend tags for Stellent content as they use to classify the rest of their enterprise content. The Verity integration provides an expanded offering for Verity and Stellent customers, leveraging Verity's existing partnerships and technology to help organize and discover content from virtually any source enterprise-wide."

Verity Profiler, the company's patented profiling technology, rapidly and accurately classifies new or modified documents against a large number of classification profiles in real-time. These profiles serve as the rules to define the probability a given document is about a given subject. This sophisticated profiling technology is highly scalable and capable of matching hundreds of thousands of profiles against a stream of documents almost simultaneously.

"Verity and Stellent have been OEM partners for several years, delivering to customers solutions that allow them to make better, more efficient use of the intellectual capital within their organizations," said Michael T. Zuckerman, Verity's vice president of marketing. "The certification of our Verity Profiler is the latest result of this collaboration, one that provides customers with a new way to enhance the performance of their Stellent Content Management Systems, and strengthens an already long-standing relationship."

The Verity Profiler is available from Verity.
