Cardiff LiquidOffice™ Selected by Baja Fresh to Automate Form-Driven Processes Across 215 Restaurants Nationwide

Leading Mexican restaurant chain implements LiquidOffice to standardize all internal forms; Integration with PeopleSoft® HRMS to reduce data entry costs

San Diego, CA - 2003-02-25 - Cardiff Software, Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today announced that Baja Fresh, a leading chain of fresh Mexican food restaurants and a subsidiary of Wendy's International Inc., has selected Cardiff LiquidOffice™ to automate form-driven processes enterprise-wide at 215 restaurants across 20 states throughout the country. Baja Fresh will take advantage of LiquidOffice's Web-based interface and open architecture to quickly capture, process and respond to business-critical information submitted internally via easy-to-use, online forms.

LiquidOffice will give Baja Fresh the ability to easily publish its 100 corporate forms on the corporate intranet, thereby avoiding duplications and providing employees with ready access to up-to-date, interactive forms. LiquidOffice will initially be used to automate a variety of human resource forms relating to new hires, capital expenditures, expenses and benefits.

In addition to providing an online interface for submitting forms, LiquidOffice will enable Baja Fresh to significantly reduce data entry costs through its ability to transfer data directly to and from their PeopleSoft® Human Resource Management suite (HRMS). For example, the integration of the two systems will allow data from new hire forms to be transferred directly into PeopleSoft HRMS, and data from PeopleSoft HRMS will be used to pre-populate forms with a user's profile information. LiquidOffice provides its users with additional reductions in time and expense by automatically managing the routing, tracking and approval processes for electronic forms.

"Cardiff LiquidOffice was selected for its proven ability to reduce the time, effort and expense associated with the manual processing of corporate forms," said Natascha Kogler Brown, CIO at Baja Fresh. "Our planned implementation of LiquidOffice will enable us to standardize form-driven processes across our 200 restaurants, which will give our organization more time to focus on expanding our number of restaurants."

The scalability and high performance of LiquidOffice provide organizations with a solid foundation for automating all their business-critical processes. Cardiff's open systems approach also allows them to take advantage of new technologies while continuing to use their existing systems, rather than locking them into a single source.

"By using LiquidOffice to transform static, legacy forms into intelligent eForms, large organizations like Baja Fresh can significantly reduce the costs associated with the manual processing of forms and also standardize forms, documents and processes across hundreds of remote locations," said Dan Shirra, Cardiff's vice president of worldwide marketing. "By providing online access to forms and automating the routing, tracking and approvals process, LiquidOffice presents Baja Fresh with a tool to increase productivity, efficiency and profitability."

LiquidOffice also supports intelligent routing, tracking and secure digital approval, so entire processes can be managed online, and forms can be automatically routed for approval. This functionality significantly reduces the amount of time and expense it currently takes to process and approve forms by reducing data entry requirements and eliminating the need for end users to print, fill out and mail back forms.
