Autonomy's Infrastructure Technology Recognized As Leader In Knowledge Management For Third Straight Year

Autonomy Honored by KM World

San Francisco, Calif., February 24, 2003-Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; Nasdaq Europe: AUTN; LSE: AU.), a leading provider of infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced they have been included in KMWorld magazine's annual "100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management" issue. KMWorld, which has selected Autonomy three years in a row, will highlight all recipients in the March 2003 publication.

Every year KMWorld recognizes the top 100 companies that matter most in the knowledge management industry. The award distinguishes organizations across various industries that exhibit strong leadership and technological innovation. In addition, award recipients are identified as market makers, solutions technology makers, solutions service makers and infrastructure technology makers.

"An effective knowledge management strategy is critical for global businesses to remain competitive," said Hugh McKeller, executive editor of KMWorld. "The continual presence of Autonomy as one of the KM World 100, is a clear indicator of their commitment to knowledge management in the enterprise."

"Autonomy's technology categorizes, links, personalizes and delivers relevant information automatically; increasing employee efficiency and ultimately saving time and money," said Mike Lynch, Autonomy CEO and founder. "We are pleased that KMWorld continues to acknowledge Autonomy's technology as a value to organizations struggling to manage the widespread and significant growth of unstructured data."

Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. Autonomy grants enterprises the flexibility to use advanced information retrieval or legacy-based approaches. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others.
