Cardiff to Reveal TELEform® MEDIclaim 837 Export Option at HIMSS Conference

Add-on option for Cardiff MEDIclaim enables healthcare organizations to transfer patient information in compliance with government mandated HIPAA guidelines

San Diego, CA - 2003-02-06 - Cardiff Software Inc., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, will reveal its new Cardiff TELEform® MEDIclaim 837 Export Option at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference and exhibition to be held at the San Diego Convention Center from February 9 - 12, 2003. Attendees of the upcoming conference will be able to visit Cardiff at booth 2113 to learn more information about the upcoming release of the TELEform MEDIclaim 837 Export Option. The new TELEform option will be made generally available on February 28, 2003 as an add-on for new and existing MEDIclaim customers. Cardiff MEDIclaim automatically sorts, identifies and reads information off of claim forms and document attachments received from fax and scanner devices, thereby reducing the need to manually sort and enter data from HCFA-1500, UB-92 and non-regulated forms.

Healthcare organizations using Cardiff MEDIclaim with the TELEform MEDIclaim 837 Export Option will be able to improve enterprise-wide communication and data sharing with back office applications. The combined solution achieves this by automatically converting data extracted from HCFA-1500 and UB-92 claims forms into HIPAA 837 Transaction files, which are used to communicate service billing claim submissions between healthcare entities. By creating standards and eliminating manual paper processes, the TELEform MEDIclaim 837 Export Option will help healthcare organizations realize greater efficiencies, productivity and cost savings.

Russ Gould, director of product management at Cardiff, comments, "We are very excited about the upcoming release of the TELEform MEDIclaim 837 Export Option and expect to see a lot of interest from attendees at the HIMSS conference and exhibition. This venue presents a significant opportunity to provide industry professionals with a sneak peak into how this upcoming release can help healthcare organizations reduce costs by eliminating manual processes."

The 2003 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition is focused on the advancement and management of information technology, providing an opportunity to learn the latest industry intelligence. The event features developments and innovations in the healthcare industry including government regulations, technology mandates and new system developments. An estimated 20,000 professionals from all over the globe will gather in San Diego to attend pre-conference workshops and education sessions, see newsmakers address the industry, and explore the latest technology in the field.
