Stratford-on-Avon District Council Selects Cardiff LiquidOffice™ to Put Government Services Online
UK government council selects Cardiff's eForm Technology to attain goal of 100% full electronic service delivery
Brentford, England - 2003-01-07 - Cardiff Software Ltd., a leading global provider of business and government process-automation solutions, today announced that Stratford-on-Avon District Council has selected Cardiff LiquidOffice™ to put intelligent eForms on its Web site and allow for the electronic routing, tracking and approval of official forms by council employees and its constituents. The solution will enable Stratford-on-Avon District Council to meet the demands of the government's e-GIF (Government Interoperability Framework) mandates and to help attain its goal of 100 percent Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) by 2005. The solution is being implemented by Cardiff Software reseller O2 Consulting.
LiquidOffice, Cardiff's e-GIF compliant eForm automation solution, will initially be used to streamline Stratford's internal administrative processes such as holiday requests, expenses, purchase requisitions and timesheets, thereby eliminating the manual handling of paper documents and significantly reducing the costs associated with paper processes. Once this phase of the implementation is complete, Stratford will extend the system to include public access, which will enable Stratford's 110,000 citizens and suppliers to complete PDF or HTML forms and submit them directly into the LiquidOffice system via a standard Web browser interface.
Dave Webb, head of the Stratford-on-Avon eGov committee responsible for eForms, comments: "When we looked around the market for products, we quickly realised that we needed a solution that would do more than simply enable the citizens to fill in forms online. We needed a process automation system where we, as the District Council, could rapidly and efficiently communicate back to the citizens and send the forms around the various council departments for approval."
Webb continues: "With LiquidOffice, our citizens will have safe and secure access to government forms through the Internet, and we will be able to approve and track these eForms internally around our government organisation. Since LiquidOffice is based on an open standards architecture, we are able to leverage our existing IT investments and at the same time comply with the demands of the government's e-GIF mandates."
Nick Marsh, O2 Consulting managing director adds: "Cardiff LiquidOffice's scalability and interoperability and O2's expertise in delivering government process automation solutions provide Stratford District Council with a solution that will include all their internal and external form processes. We are very pleased to announce this deal, as it shows how government organisations similar to Stratford District Council can meet the demands of the e-GIF mandates by implementing today's best-of-breed business process automation technology."
