Johnson Controls Selects Cardiff LiquidOffice™ to Put Paper Online and Reduce the Costs Associated With Form-Driven Processes

Global manufacturing & production organisation adopts Cardiff Software's business process automation solution for their form-driven processes

Brentford, England - 2002-12-10 - Cardiff Software Ltd., a leading global provider of business process-automation solutions, today announced that Johnson Controls, a global market leader in automotive systems and facility management, will use the Cardiff LiquidOffice™ eForms System to automate form-based processes, beginning with its plant at Burton upon Trent, England. The solution is being implemented by Cardiff Software reseller O2 Consulting.

Cardiff LiquidOffice will be used to streamline the processing of Johnson Controls' purchase requisition forms, greatly reducing the time spent on administrative procedures and eliminating the manual handling of paper documents. A Web-based solution, LiquidOffice will enable employees at Johnson Controls to use Internet technology to track purchase requisitions at every stage in the sign-off and procurement process, thereby eliminating the costs associated with manual, paper-based procedures.

Cardiff LiquidOffice is a complete eForm management software system that allows organisations to design, route, track, approve and sign electronic forms online via a standard Web-browser. Its open-standards architecture uses standard PDF and HTML formats that enable manufacturing organisations such as Johnson Controls to seamlessly integrate LiquidOffice with existing IT infrastructure and back office quality management control systems.

Anthony Cartwright, IT project co-ordinator at Johnson Controls, comments: "The manual handling of purchase order forms was very labour intensive and resulted in many forms being filled out incorrectly, the sign-off process taking too long and difficulties in tracking the progress of forms. With LiquidOffice, our employees will now be able to fill in purchase requisitions online, send them through for electronic approval and track them throughout the whole process to delivery. It is also planned to integrate the system with our back office applications, further eliminating the errors associated with manual paper processes."

Cartwright continues, "What attracted us to LiquidOffice was its complete scalability that enables us to add users and forms to the system as business requirements dictate. In terms of ROI, we expect LiquidOffice to pay for itself in less than one year. The next stage in this process is to migrate all of our internal form-based processes, such as timesheets, holiday request forms and expense reports into LiquidOffice, further driving efficiencies and cost reductions."

Nick Marsh, managing director of O2 Consulting, comments, "Cardiff LiquidOffice's powerful functionality and O2's expertise in delivering business process-automation projects have combined to offer Johnson Controls a solution that provides a quick return on investment and the scalability to meet Johnson Controls' immediate and future requirements."
