FöreningsSparbanken (Swedbank) ENHANCES CORPORATE INTRANET WITH AUTONOMY'S INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY

Automated Infrastructure Will Provide Employees Easy and Efficient Access to Relevant Information

Cambridge, England - November 14, 2002- Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU., Nasdaq Europe: AUTN), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that FöreningsSparbanken (Swedbank), one of Scandinavia's largest banking institutions, has deployed Autonomy's technology to power its corporate Intranet serving over 14,000 employees. The Intranet creates a single location where pertinent industry-related and corporate documents can be easily and readily accessed by employees.

With Swedbank employees located throughout Scandinavia, the company needed a central location where workers could access critical industry news and documents, as well as obtain updates on corporate information, such as training and benefits. Autonomy's technology enables employees to locate specific information from both external and internal sources without having to manually search for such information. In addition, related documents are delivered via the Intranet with automatically created hyperlinks.

"By decreasing the time spent actively looking for information, Swedbank employees have more time to focus on their core responsibilities, thereby increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. At every financial institution, employee time is a critical commodity that is always in short supply," said Lennart Lundgren, Manager, Intranet and Internet. "By integrating Autonomy's technology into our upgraded Intranet, Swedbank employees have immediate access to the business critical information they need to get their jobs done more efficiently. In addition, the technology was quickly implemented with a minimum of administration saving time and money for our organization."

"Whether in financial services, manufacturing or pharmaceuticals, companies cannot afford to neglect their core business to manage rapidly expanding amount of unstructured information," said Mike Lynch, Founder and CEO of Autonomy. "Swedbank joins other prominent financial institutions including ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Lloyds TSB, Nomura, Royal & SunAlliance and Zurich that use Autonomy's automated infrastructure to deliver information across their enterprise."

Autonomy's unique Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories through an understanding of their content. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to process text, voice and video in any language and identify and rank the main concepts within them. It then automatically categorizes, links, summarizes, personalizes and delivers that information. Autonomy's infrastructure technology is used to automate operations within enterprise information portals, customer relationship management, knowledge management, business intelligence and e-business applications, among others. Autonomy's technology also drives collaboration across the enterprise and enables organizations to effectively leverage expertise.
