Verity Technologists to Speak at Association of Computing Machinery Event
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - 2002-10-29 - Members of the Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY) software development team have been selected to present two papers at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Eleventh International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM), to be held November 4-9, 2002, in McLean, Va. Verity's senior software architect Alpha Luk will present a paper on "Thematic Mapping - From Unstructured Documents to Taxonomies." Kiam Choo, senior software engineer, will present a paper on the "Verity Federated Infrastructure."

The ACM Conference on Information and Knowledge Management provides an international forum for presentation and discussion of research on information and knowledge management, as well as recent advances on data and knowledge bases. The purpose of the conference is to identify challenging problems facing the development of future knowledge and information systems, and to shape future directions of research by soliciting and reviewing high quality, applied and theoretical research findings.
