Autonomy and Citrix Announce OEM Deal
Citrix Licenses Autonomy's Infrastructure Software For Automated Information Integration
San Francisco, Calif., October 11, 2002 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN; LSE: AU., Nasdaq Europe: AUTN), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced an OEM alliance with Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), a global leader in virtual workplace software and services. Under this agreement, Citrix has licensed Autonomy's technology to provide automated aggregation, hyper-linking and advanced retrieval capability in selected products.
According to Bob Kruger, senior vice president, products organization and chief technology officer, Citrix evaluated several vendors before selecting Autonomy's infrastructure. "Citrix selected Autonomy's technology because it is fast, quick to implement and comprehensive in its search capabilities."
Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from more than 200 different repositories through an understanding of the content. At the heart of Autonomy's software is its ability to analyze text (within 65 different languages) and voice and identify and rank the main concepts within it. It then automatically categorizes, links, personalizes and delivers that information. With Autonomy's technology, Citrix customers will get the information they need in real-time to conduct their business.
According to Autonomy CEO and founder Mike Lynch, Citrix and Autonomy recognize that continuous access to real-time information is integral to an organization's success. "Citrix provides a range of solutions that are scalable, reliable, manageable and secure," said Lynch. "We are pleased to be working with Citrix to provide robust applications that allow organizations to maintain their competitive advantage in today's virtual workplace."
Citrix is the latest software company to become an Autonomy global OEM partner. More than fifty companies license Autonomy's technology for use within their applications. Other members of Autonomy's OEM program include ATG, Computer Associates, BEA, Business Objects, Hewlett Packard, IBM Global Services, Vignette and Sybase.
