Autonomy Corporation Plc Results Of Annual General Meeting

CAMBRIDGE, England - 11 June 2002 - Autonomy Corporation plc (Nasdaq: AUTN, LSE: AU., Nasdaq Europe: AUTN), a global leader in infrastructure software for the extended enterprise, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Cambridge, England today.

During his opening address at the AGM, Dr. Michael R. Lynch, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Autonomy, made the following comments:

"Although its been a notably difficult year in the technology sector in general, Autonomy has continued to benefit from a highly scalable business model in stark contrast to the effects suffered by most of the IT industry. Our global, lean, cash generative organization has now delivered nine consecutive quarters of profitability and a strong balance sheet with over $145 million of cash. Our world-class technology and inherent strength have ensured that we retain our position in the top ranks of software companies of our size, and have enabled us to further leverage our special value proposition, which is to provide the software infrastructure that automates operations on unstructured information.

The launch of Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) has provided a single platform for processing text, voice and video, enabling the enterprise to reduce, or eradicate altogether, the manual costs of handling human friendly information. The value added by Autonomy's technology, combined with the evolution of the market to Return On Investment based procurement, means that virtually every enterprise in every industrial sector is now well placed to reap significant cost savings.

We believe this bodes well for the future of our company."
